Consistency.... In training, it's the key to your fitness goals.
Consistency is arguably the most important component when working to accomplish goals in or out of the gym.
Without consistency, programs are unorganized, the body has a harder time adapting, and forming habits may be more challenging.
Building a habit of healthy, consistent eating can help people reduce weight variability and lose weight more consistently, even if it’s at a slower pace.
You heard it before ...
Consistency is the key to success > Consistency leads to habits > Habits form the actions we take every day > Action leads to success.
Consistency is one ☝️ of the most powerful tools you have.
Your brain actually craves it.
It powers you through the day to day so you can reach your goals but also makes tough routines automatic, so you stay motivated.
How can you stay consistent while at the same time not constrained?
1)Dig Deep
I read a study about military training and it stated that when a soldier feels like they are at their breaking point, they're actually only at 40%. This means there's another 60% within them to KEEP GOING. In those moments, they have to dig deep. Now, I'm not telling you to go train like a soldier... I'm just saying in those moments where you want to give up or not show up - DIG DEEP!
2)Find your wiggle room
There's a difference between enjoying a bit of ice cream during summer and going off the rails BECAUSE you ate ice cream. It's important to have balance and to not feel like a robot. Enjoying something is necessary and makes all the hard work worth it all.
3)Know when to call it
Sometimes, you just got to call it. Sometimes you need a break. Overdoing it just to meet your goals is not going to get you there faster. It's only going to cause you to burn out. And let me tell you, it's hard to get back on the horse after you've burnt yourself out.
Check in with yourself, make tweaks, keep an eye on your results so you know when to make changes, refine it.
Keep growing and keep achieving!
