Stay on Track During the Summer Months with These Tips

Summer is just around the corner! Vacations? Camping? Patio Drinks..!?! Yes, Yes and Yes!!! You’ve worked hard all winter, and you don’t have to let yourself go off track during the summer, as tempting as it may be. 

A lot of people have this "all or nothing" mindset where they think that now that it’s warmer out, they can push aside some of the good habits and routines they established over the winter months. 

I am here to say to does not have to be this way! You can still have a drink, go on vacation, all while still getting your movement in and eating properly. It’s called balance!

Here are my top tips to help you achieve this balance, all while enjoying everything the summer months have to offer!

1. Plan ahead - pack healthy snacks, research places to eat and menus in advance, schedule in meal prep and exercise like it’s an appointment so you will stick to it! 

2. Stay hydrated - drink lots and lots of water! Always remembering your refillable bottle when you are leaving the house. 

3. Make healthy choices - be mindful of your drinking and eating - there are plenty of delicious calorie-wise drinks available these days and the summer is full of fresh fruit and veggies, so pack them on your plates! 

4. Don’t lose track of your goals - write them down and look at them frequently to remind yourself what you are working towards as a lifestyle. 

5. Incorporate the outdoors into your exercise routine - move it outside! Bike, swim, hike, play a game of volleyball! The summer months are a great time to actually get more movement in. On top of your regular exercise routine, you can walk and bike more places, get into the water more and do fun activities with friends and family. 

Remember, tomorrow is always a new day, so if you went off track for one day, it doesn’t have to stay that way! Each day is a new chance to do better for ourselves and reset :) Cheers to fun in the sun!
